What does it mean to be a room parent? 

A room parent is a parent that is selected by your child's classroom teacher to be the point of contact for planning classroom parties, finding volunteers for field trips, etc. 

 

What does a room parent do?

- Once you're selected as a room parent, you will attend the room parent orientation at the beginning of the year.

-Ask your assigned teacher what they need for the year (volunteer, supplies, etc.)

-Get permission to contact other parents in class

-Help teachers organize class parties

-Celebrate/Recognize the teacher's birthday

-Attend any school events or field trips as a volunteer as much as possible

-Gather silent auction items for grade level raffle basket

-Decorate the classroom door throughout the year
